Reach Your Goals With a Financial Planner

  • I want a better return on my investments.  Your financial planner is able to examine where your money is now and offer alternatives that may help you optimize returns for your level of risk.
  • I want to make sure that my family is financially protected should something happen to me. Perhaps one of the more compassionate and important goals you may have.  Determining the appropriate insurance coverage for both your life and the possibility of a disability is critical to any plan.
  • I don't mind paying taxes, but I want to keep more of my money for me.  There are several ways you can save money on taxes, from tax-deferred to tax-free investments to deductions and credits you may not be aware of, your planner can work with you and your tax adviser to point out any advantages you may be able to take.
  • I want to be able to afford the best education possible for my children.  It's never too early to start saving for your child's education.  Not only can your planner recommend the appropriate investments, he or she can also show you saving vehicles that may be tax advantaged
  • I don't want to worry about running out of money during my retirement.  Making the right investment choices now is just part of the story.  Your financial planner can show you how, when you're ready to retire,  those investments are properly allocated.
  • I want to retire comfortably at age 60.  Possible?  With the right guidance, such a goal may not seem quite so lofty.  Depending on your particular financial situation, with the appropriate investment vehicle and right use of tax advantages, you just may be able to retire at age 60.
  • I want to keep control of my decisions when I retire.  Keeping this type of control will require you to prepare now.  Your financial planner will work with you to show you how to have enough money, how to pay for long-term care, should you need it, and, working with your attorney, showing you the legal documents you'll need for your health and financial decisions to come to fruition.
  • I want to maintain a certain lifestyle when I retire.  Your financial planner can show you how you can appropriately invest for a comfortable retirement.
  • When it comes to my investments, I want to know that I am "on track".  Your financial planner can work with you to develop and implement a financial plan that best fits your financial needs, including your tolerance for risk and time frame.
  • When the time comes, I want to make sure that my money and my things go where I want them to go.  A will is important when it comes to the disposition of your property.  But, a will may not be enough.  There are tools you can use, such as trusts, to ensure that the decisions you make now are carried out later.  Your financial planner will work with you and your attorney to develop a comprehensive strategy that will make sure your things do get to where you want them to go and that your heirs get a greater share than estate taxes.
  • My business is important to me, so I want to make sure it is protected.  Your financial planner can show you how you can protect your business from the loss of a key employee and how to retain others.  He or she can also work with you and your attorney to make sure your wishes for your business and your family are carried out should something happen to you.
  • I want "X" for "X" by "X".  If you're like most people, you have a set of goals that are unique to you.  You want say, $20,000 for a boat in ten years.  Your financial planner can give you the guidance you need to reach that special goal and has the experience, the tools, and the know-how to help you realize your financial dreams.

Financial Planning:  The key to Getting What You Want

There's no mystery to financial planning.  What it simply requires is taking a personal, in-depth look at your goals and deciding how you intend to achieve them.  Once you decide what you want, you can make plans to get from where you are today... to where you want to be tomorrow.

With planning, you will be better prepared for achieving your goals than if you don't plan.  And, the right financial plan will help you to:

  • Potentially reduce taxes
  • Save for retirement
  • Decide how to invest
  • Provide proper insurance coverage
  • Custom-design programs to try to achieve your special goals... buying a home or condo, retiring early, financing your child's education and more

What's included in a Financial Plan?  A financial plan can include, where appropriate, investment, net worth and insurance analysis, cash management, tax, education, business, and estate planning sections.

Working with a Financial Planner  As a client, you and your financial planner will develop a confidential relationship based on mutual trust and respect.  Above all else, when you become a financial planning client, your planner is obligated to act in your best interests.  Your financial planner's goal will be to ensure that your objectives have been incorporated into your plan.

How We Can Help You

With proper planning, you will be better prepared for achieving your goals that if you didn't plan.  Our planning service was founded on two simple principles:  Provide people high quality, confidential service and, listen to you and to give advice that is in your best interest.

Our Financial Planning service has five steps

Step 1 ?  No obligation session.  At this meeting we will listen to your financial concerns and discuss what financial planning can do to help you achieve your objectives.

Step 2 ?  Gather information.  If you decide to purchase financial planning services from us, we move on to the next and most important step; data gathering.  This is where we learn about all of your financial goals, objectives, assets, liabilities, income, and expenses.  The foundation of a sound financial plan is having a clear understanding of who and what you are.  This information is kept strictly confidential.

Step 3 ?   Analysis and recommendation.  A preliminary analysis of the information about you is prepared.  This includes reviewing all of your objectives and determining if they are feasible.  We may consult, with your permission, with your attorney, accountant, or other adviser to make sure the data is complete.

Step 4 ?  Final Plan review.  After all of the alternatives and information is analyzed, a final plan will be presented to you.  The final plan is a written document prepared especially for you.  It contains specific recommendations designed to meet your financial goals and needs.

Step 5 ?  Update as needed.  In life, one thing is constant: change.  Each year, and perhaps more frequently, your income, investments, assumptions, and objectives will change.  We will be there for you to update your plan as needed.
